I have dedicated ten years to the field of education, teaching grades 1 through 4 at three different elementary schools: Lessie Moore Elementary, Peabody Montessori, and currently at Hayden R. Lawrence. In August 2021, I transitioned to the role of Lead Teacher at Hayden R. Lawrence, and in December 2023, I was promoted to Assistant Principal. As a former student of this school, I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to contribute to a place that has profoundly impacted my own educational journey. I look forward to investing in our students and supporting our dedicated teachers.

As a classroom teacher, I have consistently prioritized building strong relationships with my students while remaining committed to staying informed about innovative practices to enhance student engagement and academic performance. In my current role, I believe these qualities continue to shape my contributions to our team. It is essential to value each team member while fostering their growth to maximize our collective impact on student achievement.

Hello HRL family,

I am Ashley Guidry, your new Lead Teacher. While I may be new to this school, I am no stranger to upper elementary education. This is my 12th year serving this age of students, and they still have my heart. Here at HRL, I get the privilege of working hand in hand with teachers, supporting them, so that they can better serve their students. I believe that all students can succeed with a growth mindset. Encouraging students and teachers to believe in themselves while putting in the hard work to achieve their goals is a foundation of this principle as well as a real passion of mine. As an educator, I know my job is so much more than teaching academics. In addition, I feel the huge responsibility to teach life lessons that students will reflect on for years to come and apply to many situations. I hope my future here includes creating lasting influence.
